Welcome to our office. Our objective is to, provide you with the highest quality health, care available in the private practice of Internal Medicine. We hope to do this in an efficient and scientific way, but also in a very warm, personable manner. Our efficient and, caring staff join us in trying to make your experience as pleasant as possible. You as our patients are the most important part of our medical practice.

What Is Internal Medicine?

As specialists in Internal Medicine we offer complete medical care for adults. Internal Medicine is that branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis and medical treatment of diseases and disorders of the internal structures of the human body. Internal Medicine specialists diagnose and treat diseases and encourage the maintenance of good health. As your internists we can also perform dermatologic procedures, EKG treadmill exercise stress testing and lung function screenings.

Appointments

In order to serve you better office visits are by appointment only. To make an appointment call (502) 589-3844 during office hours. Please arrive at your scheduled time so we may keep our appointment schedule running smoothly and your waiting time to a minimum. If long delays are expected our office will try to reach you before your appointment. If you are unable to keep an appointment please call as soon as possible. Appointments for a complete history and physical (either for your first visit or your annual check-up) require more time and laboratory preparation than routine visits. For emergency or urgent situations you'll be seen as soon as possible. Routine or less than urgent visits can usually be scheduled within two weeks of the time you phone. New patients will be asked to fill out an acquaintance form and other patients will be asked to update information on file.

Telephone Calls (502) 589-3844

Routine calls are best handled during office hours when your chart is available. Please briefly describe your problem to the staff; they will be able to answer many of your questions. If you need to speak with one of us leave phone numbers and your call will be returned at the earliest opportunity that day.

Emergency Calls

For emergencies your calls are answered 24 hours a day seven days a week. After hours and weekends calls are handled by our answering service; they can contact the on call physician immediately through our pagers. In an emergency call EMS at 911 and request to be taken to a downtown hospital's Emergency Room. This will allow expedient care and the Emergency Room will contact us when you arrive.

Prescriptions

If you need a prescription refill call your pharmacist. The pharmacist can then call us directly for a refill with dosage and medication name information. Please call during office hours so your chart is available to us.

 

Fees

Co-pays are required to be collected at the time of service. Our fees are comparable to those of other Internal Medicine specialists in our area. Payment is expected at the time of your visit. If a special financial situation exists other arrangements can be made. Our financial manager can answer questions about your statement or specific billing practices. Feel free to discuss fees with us.

Insurance

Louisville Medical Associates participates with most commercial insurance and Medicare. It is important to inform us of any changes in your insurance before you are seen by the physician. Please bring your insurance card to every visit. Many insurance companies require referrals for medical procedures and visits to specialists.

Referrals

Referrals except in an emergency must be obtained seven days prior to your appointment with a specialist or institution. Our staff is knowledgeable in the intricacies of health insurance. Do not hesitate to discuss your coverage and responsibilities with them.

Medical Records

Confidentiality of medical records is paramount to us. No information will be released to insurance companies attorneys or others without your written consent. If you leave our practice or move out of town you should write asking us to send your records to another physician. Please include your signature as well as the address of the physician to whom we should forward your records.

 

OUR PHYSICIANS

  

Christin E. Honaker MD

Dr. Honaker is a native of Shelbyville, Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia 1991. She received her medical degree in 1995 from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and completed her Internal Medicine residency in 1998 at Loyola medical Center, Maywood, Illinois.

Dr. Honaker is board certified in Internal Medicine and a member of the American Medical Association and the Kentucky Medical Association.

In her spare time, Dr. Honaker and her husband enjoy gardening and traveling. She is the mother of 4 beautiful healthy children.

 

A. Frances Brennan PhD MD

Dr. Brennan is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. and received her B.A. degree from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. She received a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa and her M.D. Degree from the University of Louisville (1994). She completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at University of Louisville Hospital. Dr. Brennan is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Her professional interests include Heart Disease and Diabetes.

Dr. Brennan has two sons Jack and Doug and two daughter-in-laws Elenita andAndrea and four grandchildren. She enjoys traveling , hiking, reading, movies and theater.

 

B. Frank Parker MD

Dr. Parker received his B.S. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Centre College of Kentucky (1980) and his M.D. from the University of Louisville (1984). His post graduate training includes an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Louisville. He currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine Dr. Parker is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds certification in Addiction Medicine through the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Parker has professional interests in preventive health care exams, travel medicine and chemical dependency.

Dr. Parker and his wife Amy have two sons Blaine and Daniel. Dr. Parker enjoys his computer as a hobby and exercises with tennis and windsurfing.

 

S. Philip Greiver MD FACP

Dr. Greiver is a native of Louisville and a graduate of Male High School. He received his B.A. degree in Biology in 1951 and M.D. degree in 1955 from the of University of Louisville. His post graduate medical training included two years at Maimonides Hospital in N.Y. one at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. and one at Louisville General Hospital. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corp in 1957 to 1959. Dr. Greiver is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. (FACP). He became certified with a CAQ in Geriatrics in 1990 and helped establish the Kentucky Geriatric Society. He is presently enjoying retirement and serving as a consultant to LMA. Dr. Greiver and his wife Roz have two sons Michael and Jonathan and four grandsons, Yosef, David, Moshe, and Meir. Dr. Greiver enjoys photography, walking, and traveling.
